We are situated at Sulky, Victoria just north of Ballarat and have been involved with Connemara ponies since 1998. Our stallion is Green Hills Trooper Thomas (s. Aran Milano d. Green Hills Showgirl) Thomas is dapple grey and stands 13.2hh and is producing 14hh plus. He is a delightful stallion with a wonderful temperament and is available to outside mares. Mares at stud are: Dylan Glen Diamond Tiara (s. Abbeyleix Finbar d. Glenormiston Jessie Diamond) Glenormiston Diamonds Forever (s. Domo Cavallo Praize d. Four of Diamonds) Glenormiston Ciara (s. Domo Cavallo Praize d. Glenormiston Dulcinea) Both Diamonds Forever & Ciara are due to foal in December while Tiara is having a break after producing three colts in three years. Our breeding plans for this coming season include all of our Connemara mares, the TB, Taylor Girl and our Australian pony, Annabella. Our foals to date are: · Kahean Liam - gelding (d. Blandings Sally) (sold to S.Aust.) · Kahean Ronan -gelding (d. Blandings Sally) (sold to Vic.) · Kahean Royal Diamond-gelding (d. Dylan Glen Diamond Tiara) (sold to Vic.) · Kahean Padraic – gelding (d. Blandings Sally) · Kahean Jack of Diamonds –gelding Dylan Glen Diamond Tiara) (sold to Vic.) · Taylors Wish – filly TB cross (d. Taylor Girl) (sold to NSW) · Kahean Jimmy Diamond – colt( Dylan Glen Diamond Tiara) (sold to NSW) All foals sired by Green Hills Trooper Thomas except Liam (s Blandings Clancy) Padraic is now the only offspring we still have and is not for sale. At 2 years old he is quite a character but very easy to handle. He was orphaned at 4½ months and we are very attached to him. We plan to take him to local shows this year despite being a little immature in his development. He is possibly a dapple grey but we will have to wait and see. Glenormiston Ciaran we will continue to show this season and on his days off he looks after Padriac and his little companion, miniature pony, Pentland Mojo. These three are quite a sight at play. Ballantrae Petunia is with us on lease from Jayne & Trevor Ramaker and is due to foal in December with a Glenormiston Freedom foal. Petunia will be put to GH Trooper Thomas early next year. Established in South Australia in 1974 Sire at Stud. Wychwood Willy Wagtail (170 ) Wychwood Willy Wagtail has Inis O'Hara (imp) & Thunderbolt in his pedigree. Vale Southern Cross is by Millfields Commodore imp 69 and her dam Starlight (NPS 5082). The Wychwood Stud is now situated at "Moonaree Station"and "Wartaka Station both via port Augusta, South Australia. The Wychwood ponies have quality and have proved themselves in the showring, pony clubbing, hunting and cross country events. Founded in 2001 Kaledon Connemara Stud is situated in Hillville NSW about 20minutes from the Taree on the Mid North Coast Our idea from the start was to produce a pony hopefully as good as our Jo Heard winner Chittering Gully Shadow (Shady), he had sparkle, talent, could read “jump offs” and was my daughter’s best friend. We believe that all children should have the opportunity to have a Connemara to love. WILLIAMSTOWN standing at stud
Fiddler is a very true to type pony with great bone and substance, correct limbs, free movement and quiet temperament. He has been exhibited three times and gained Champion led Connemara twice .His dam Cairnhill Fionna was a brilliant hunting pony with a truly exceptional temperament. Braidwood Talisman Sport Horses is owned and operated by Bec Lindwall and James Broadbent. We live on a 120 acre property near Braidwood in Southern NSW, and breed and produce performance horses. We both compete on the eventing circuit with a team of horses from Intro to Advanced and currently stand four stallions including Jimmy our Connemara, Ed our Warmblood, Ringo our Thoroughbred and soon we will also be standing our Irish Sport Horse Stallion McGuire. Kahean Jimmy Diamond is a gorgeous young Connemara Stallion packed with talent. Standing at 14.1hh he is ideal to bred the next generation of sport ponies, while he is also the perfect cross with a thoroughbred mare to produce the ultimate junior eventer or smaller performance horse. Recently broken-in Jimmy is commencing his training and has also been quiet enough for the kids to ride!! As we both compete ourselves and also teach children and up and coming juniors, we saw the need to produce talented horses that have the ability to excel in all disciplines, but are quiet! There are too many ponies and horses out there that are just not suitable. We did a lot of research and decided that the Connemara was the perfect answer.
